Ti and the other young boys ran through the forest and gathered around the fence that surrounded the Men’s Hut.

Spirits were high as this year’s class of teenage boys would take the ceremonial trip into the mysterious Men’s Hunt, where the community elders reveal all the universe’s secrets.

Wonder and anticipation filled Ti and his fellow wide-eyed ten-year-old friends as they traded mesmerizing stories of what would transpire in the Men’s Hunt today!

Then a wave of goosebumps surged up Ti’s body as he saw the flap of the Men’s Hunt quickly open and shut as a few of the community elders emerged to greet the line of young men who had completed the rituals from the night before.

One of those teenagers was Ti’s oldest brother, Rae.

Although fatigued from a night of hunting, physical challenges, meditating by the fire, and dancing, Rae’s eyes were as wide and bright as all the others who had gathered around to support them.

The senior community leader then gave a short speech about the importance of today and invited Rae and the other initiates to join the elders in the Men’s Hut.

Rae took a deep breath as he had been waiting eighteen years for this moment, and it was finally happening!

Ti couldn’t contain himself anymore, and he and the entire community began yelling and cheering loudly for those who were about to be forever transformed by the magic and miracles waiting inside the Men’s Hut.

Once everyone entered, the crowd dissipated, returning to the day’s work, but not Ti.

He stood at the fence for hours, waiting for Rae to emerge and share all the wonderment inside that secretive hut.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Rae and a few others emerged from the hut.

Ti charged towards his brother, grabbed his hand, and with a huge smile and a glowing expression of delight, asked him, “What happened in there?”

Rae paused for a long moment in deep thought, then slowly bent down to get closer to Ti’s ear, and softly whispered, “You’ll just have to wait and see.”

Then Ti exploded in joy as his imagination raced about all the adventures he would have one day when he entered the Men’s Hunt.

Watching this, Rae laughed and went to visit with the rest of his family.

Eight years later, Ti stood in line waiting for the community leader to give his speech and invite him into the Men’s Hut.

Ti was exhausted from the previous night’s activities, yet he had fantasized about this day his whole life, and it had finally arrived.

Suddenly, the line began moving, and Ti’s strong heart nearly pounded out of his chest as he slipped through the Men’s Hut entrance and stepped inside.

Once inside the Men’s Hut, he looked around expecting to see…well, he didn’t know what to expect?

Peering around the room, he saw many elders sitting at tables playing cards and sharing humorous stories.

Some men napped while others engaged in serious conversations about the community’s future.

Confused, Ti walked up to one of the elders and asked when the magical experiences would begin.

Ti continued, “You’re just napping, playing cards, and talking about the future. When do you reveal the magic of the universe?”

The elder smiled warmly and said, “Jet see’s a leprechaun, and Mina sees an elf, but the only magic you will see is the magic you create yourself.”

Stunned, Ti sat down in a corner and wrestled with this idea for hours. Eventually, he decided that this was BS and would let others know about it.

So he got up and exited into the cool evening air.

Suddenly, a dozen wildly excited kids surrounded him, enthusiastically jumping around with wide eyes and abundant curiosity.

Then one of the kids built up the courage and asked, “What happens in there?”

Ti looked down at their happy faces and then understood a little more about what the elder had shared with him.

He then slowly bent forward to get closer as all the kids pushed in to hear what Ti was about to say.

Making the moment last, he peered into the eyes of every child there and then softly whispered, “You’ll just have to wait and see.”

Then Ti stood up and laughed as he watched the children run away laughing, dancing, and dreaming of what joys lie ahead for them one day in that Magical Hut.

“Jet see’s a leprechaun, and Mina sees an elf, but the only magic you will see is the magic you create yourself.”

Create a meaningful day for yourself and those you love. Stop waiting for a miracle. Instead, bring curiosity, fun, adventure, and kindness to the moment and make your own miracles!
