Have you ever noticed the moment you decide to take action towards a new goal something attempts to block it? “Today I’m going to exercise!” and then you notice you’re car has a flat tire, your child wakes up sick, or suddenly you remember that newsletter you were supposed to write before going to work!

You will be challenged because it’s the OVERCOMING of challenges that builds character and brings rewards! How resourceful do YOU become when challenged? Many people simply quit or put off taking action until the next day. Yet this just sends a message to the brain that your goal isn’t very important, which encourages future procrastination.

WHAT IF you decided to find a way to be successful each day no matter what! Japanese grocery stores had a problem. They are much smaller than their US counterparts and therefore don’t have room to waste. Watermelons, big and round, wasted a lot of space. Most people would simply tell the grocery stores that watermelons grow round and there is nothing that can be done about it.

That is how the vast majority of people would respond. But some Japanese farmers took a different approach. If the supermarkets wanted a square watermelon they asked themselves, “How can we provide one?” It wasn’t long before they invented the square watermelon.

Apparently, if you put a watermelon in a box while it is growing,
the melon will take on the shape of the box.

Now that’s resourceful! So here’s my challenge and request for you! I challenge you to take action towards your goal TODAY! Raise your standards, hold yourself to them, get wildly resourceful and committed, and RISE UP to any challenge!

My request is to share how you beat the odds or overcame challenges here on my blog or facebook page (facebook.com/timshurr) so we can inspire each other!
