Are you making this mistake? I used to chase the idea of being “successful.” I thought if you worked hard enough, you’d make a lot of money and then you’d be happy. Nobody told me that working hard might not be enough. Or that when you make a lot of money, you spend more and then end up “broke at a higher level!”

I know plenty of people who work hard, yet never seem to get ahead. I used to be one of them. Yet, many years ago I was introduced to the idea that if you spend more time “being” the person you want to be, you’ll attract what you most desire without having to chase it.

What does “being” the person you want to be mean? Most of us are taught that if you DO enough, you can HAVE enough, which will lead to you BEING the person you’ve always wanted to be.

As it turns out, this formula is backwards! The real trick is to decide who you want to BE (values), then consistently ACT from these values, which causes an attraction of what you’d like to HAVE into your life.

Once you’re clear about who you are and the value you bring to the world, your brain will begin recognizing hidden clues for how to reach your goals more efficiently and with more joy!

I couple weeks ago, I began coaching a new client named Kathy. I introduced her to this concept and helped her get more intentional about who she was and the value she brought to the table. During a guided meditation, she visualized herself wrapped in a beautiful color of “orangish-red.”

Two days later, she texted me the image below. Kathy said, “I had been visualizing myself wrapped in my power color. While at the store, I came across this pillow. You said my brain would start noticing things that would help me succeed. When I saw this pillow, I couldn’t help but laugh. An orangish-red pillow with a capital K (Kathy). If that’s not confirmation of what you said, I don’t know what is!”
